The Four Trauma Responses

  • Fight: Confronting the threat with aggression, yelling, or physical resistance.

  • Flight: Escaping or running away from the danger.

  • Freeze: Becoming immobile, numb, or unable to move.

  • Fawn: Trying to soothe or please the threat to prevent conflict or abuse, often by denying one's own needs.
